The Residence
Byron Private’s purpose-built residence is located in the Byron Bay hinterland, offering a calm, community-based environment designed to support residential treatment.
The setting provides consistency, structure, and space away from everyday pressures, which can be helpful for people engaging in mental health and substance use recovery. Our residence is non-institutional and intentionally designed to feel safe, supportive, and conducive to therapeutic engagement.
Care is delivered within this residential setting by a multidisciplinary team. Alongside clinical and therapeutic support, the environment allows for a balance of structured activities, quiet reflection, and connection with others in the program, all guided by individual needs and clinical oversight.

Our personal and unique approach
We recognise that each person’s experience is different, and we tailor care to reflect individual needs, circumstances, and goals. At Byron Private, support is shaped around the person rather than a fixed or diagnosis-specific program.
Our approach is recovery-focused, collaborative, and guided by evidence-informed practice. Care is delivered with empathy, respect, and clinical oversight, providing space for people to engage meaningfully in treatment within a calm and supportive environment.
Throughout a person’s stay, support is reviewed and adapted over time, helping ensure care remains appropriate, responsive, and aligned with each individual’s recovery journey.

Highly experienced practitioner team
yron Private’s residential program is delivered by an experienced multidisciplinary team with expertise in mental health and substance use care.
Our team includes qualified clinicians and practitioners who work collaboratively to support people with complex and co-occurring challenges. Care is informed by comprehensive assessment, clinical oversight, and regular communication across the team to ensure support is well coordinated and responsive.
Where appropriate, we also work alongside external clinicians and services to support continuity of care beyond the residential setting.

Why Byron Private Treatment Centre?
A Structured, Holistic Residential Program
Byron Private offers a community-based residential treatment option for adults who are not seeking acute hospital care but who require more support than outpatient treatment alone.
Our residential program combines structured clinical care with holistic, wellbeing-oriented supports within a calm, non-institutional environment. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team and guided by evidence-informed practice, with a focus on safety, consistency, and individual needs.
Personalised, Recovery-Focused Care
We recognise that no two people experience recovery in the same way. Care at Byron Private is shaped around the individual, rather than a fixed or diagnosis-led program.
Support is developed through comprehensive assessment and ongoing collaboration, allowing care to adapt as needs change over time. This personalised approach helps ensure treatment remains relevant, respectful, and aligned with each person’s recovery goals.
Clinical Integrity and Collaboration
Byron Private places strong emphasis on clinical governance, communication, and continuity of care. Our team works collaboratively to ensure support is well coordinated and clinically appropriate throughout a person’s stay.
Where appropriate, we also liaise with external clinicians, referrers, and support services to promote continuity beyond the residential setting. This collaborative approach supports safe transitions and ongoing care after residential treatment.
Who We Treat?
People from many backgrounds, seeking structured support for mental health or substance use challenges
People come to Byron Private at different points in their lives and for different reasons. What they share is a need for structured, residential support to help manage mental health or substance use challenges that are difficult to address with outpatient care alone.
Some people arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or worn down by ongoing symptoms. Others may be navigating the impact of trauma, significant life changes, or long-standing patterns that are affecting their wellbeing and daily functioning. Our residential program is designed to support adults who are ready to engage in recovery-focused care within a community-based setting.

A Supportive Pathway Into Residential Care
Byron Private provides residential support for adults navigating mental health and substance use challenges, as well as the impact of trauma and significant life stressors, including relationship difficulties. Our role is to offer a structured, supportive environment where people can engage in recovery-focused care tailored to their needs.
Before arrival, our team completes a comprehensive intake and screening process to understand your situation and determine whether our residential program is appropriate. This helps guide recommendations around the level of support and length of stay that may be most suitable.
If we believe a different type of service would better meet your current needs, we will support you to explore alternative options and next steps.
If you or someone you care about is struggling, you’re welcome to contact our intake team for a confidential, no-obligation conversation.
