Clinical Lead

Clinical Psychologist / Psychologist /Mental Health Nurse

Byron Private has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist / Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse to join the team at Byron Private as Clincial lead.

Who are we looking for?

As a proven leader you will manage your clinical team and the client community, role modelling our values and leading by example at all times. Calling upon your clinical skills and breadth of experience that includes group work, addiction and preferable knowledge of a therapeutic community framework you will lead your team in providing personalised care for the residents at Byron Private.

You will have impeccable boundaries, good self care and thrive working as part of a dynamic collaborative team. You do not baulk at a challenge and the needs of a vibrant client community. You will have a strong work ethic and be an effective communicator with exemplary interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

About the Role:

The role of Clinical Lead is 4 days a week plus on call as needed, on a permanent, part time basis.

You will expect to,

  • Provide leadership and consultancy to staff on clinical matters
  • Oversee and maintain a healthy client community within the framework of a therapeutic  community model
  • Be actively involved in program development and implementation
  • Available on-call as needed
  • Work with the Psychiatrist and GP to ensure clinical risks are identified, minimised and managed
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the team on complex matters
  • Interface directly with residents as needed and provide on the ground support in groups and in therapeutic interventions

Byron Private is a 12 bed, integrative residential treatment facility set in the hinterland of Byron Bay, providing specialised therapeutic support for those suffering from depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders and trauma.

Byron Private operates within a recovery oriented framework providing short to medium term inpatient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. Byron Private is an engaging, dynamic environment that values job satisfaction and the personal growth of its staff.

You must possess the following skills to be considered for the role:

  • Minimum of a degree / Master in Psychology
  • Post Grad studies in Mental Health Nursing
  • AHPRA registration
  • Experience working with complex client presentation
  • Preferred training in EMDR, Voice Dialogue, CBT, ACT
  • Valid driver's licence and own car
  • Full Australian working rights
